AMC & OLTL Move To The Web!

It’s official: ABC has licensed ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE to film/television/music company Prospect Park in a multi-year, multi-platform deal, which will enable the soaps’ stories to continue beyond their ABC finales.

Prospect Park — helmed by former Disney Studios head Rich Frank and Jeff Kwatinetz, both executive producers of USA’s ROYAL PAINS — will continue production of AMC and OLTL, delivering the programs via online formats and emerging platforms including Internet-enabled television sets. (Additional information regarding those details will be released by Prospect Park at a later date.) “We are privileged to continue the legacy of two of the greatest programs to air on daytime television,” said Frank and Kwatinetz. “Technology changes the way the public can and will view television shows. We believe that by continuing to produce the shows in their current hour format and with the same quality, viewers will follow the show to our new, online network.”

Adds Agnes Nixon, creator of the shows, “I’m just so happy that ABC found a home where the legacies of AMC and OLTL can continue. I’m looking forward to working alongside these wonderful people as we ensure that the shows will continue with all the love and excitement we’ve always had.”

The final AMC episode will air on ABC on Friday, September 23, and OLTL will last air in January 2012.
