Finola Hughes Returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL!
Anna left Port Charles recently to help Robin and Patrick with their newborn baby, but she won’t be off the canvas for too long because portrayer Finola Hughes has revealed that she’s already back on set at GENERAL HOSPITAL! “Black wardrobe on a hanger,” the actress joked on Instagram with a shot of her outfit for the day’s shooting. “Anna is back to fight crime!”

GH shut down production for three weeks back in July to give everyone a summer vacation, and Hughes took advantage of that time to enjoy an extended vacation in Europe with her family. First, she went to Northern England to visit her relatives, then she took her kids — Cash, Dylan, and Sadie — to visit Amsterdam. And after that, they took in the gorgeous sights in Italy, even taking in some sun and hitting the beach!

Hughes debuted on GH in 1985, but after leaving in 1991 has come and gone periodically over the years. After a two year stint from 2006-08, the actress brought Anna back to Port Charles in 2012 and has been appearing regularly since then.
With Anna’s budding relationship with Andre still simmering and her past with Valentin still complicating things, there’s plenty of drama waiting for Hughes when she reprises her role. Although there’s no official air date yet when viewers can expect to see Anna on screen again, given GH’s shooting schedule, you should expect her return sometime in September.
