GENERAL HOSPITAL Offers Support to Families Caring for Alzheimer’s Patients — See the PSA
Soap operas have always been one of the best mediums in which to portray social issues due to their ability to tell the story over a longer period of time and in greater detail. And GENERAL HOSPITAL’s portrayal of Mike’s Alzheimer’s disease and the struggles of his family to care for him has struck a chord with many viewers. The powerful storyline has already won the Sentinel Award for the way it has tackled the topic. Now, GH is partnering with The SCAN Foundation and Next Avenue to offer resources and support for the millions of families trying to provide quality care to a loved one suffering from Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia. Stars Max Gail (Mike), Laura Wright (Carly), Maurice Benard (Sonny), and Chad Duell (Michael) appear in the PSA.
