GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Brandon Barash Mourns the Death of His Father, Jerry Barash

Tags:

Our hearts go out to GENERAL HOSPITAL actor Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny) who is mourning the death of his father, Jerry L. Barash. “Gutted,” he shared on Instagram. “Shattered. Heartbroken. In this vast expanse of universe, we’re all as anonymous and abundant as grains of sand on a beach… but by no means insignificant.

“Dad, if we’re the sand, then you’re the rock,” Barash continued. “And with proper honoring of your memory, love, and lessons, we’ll all be beaten down in the night by the storm of your loss and of life, only to have the sun rise the next day and find that we’ve all coalesced together into one giant, indestructible boulder held together by your love and life lessons.

“Dad, wherever you are, I hope the poker chips are stacked high and that the Oban is flowing like streams,” he concluded. “I’ll meet you in the Peacock Fields… but not yet. Not yet. Rest peacefully, my king.”

Over on the Instagram page he runs for his social media parenting project The Fathership, Barash shared even more heartfelt words about his late father and how he has inspired his own relationship with his daughter with ex-wife Kirsten Storms (Maxie). “Harper Rose, your memory of Bapa will be foggy at best,” he wrote, “but I promise you today and every subsequent day that we have on this planet together that I will honor him by passing on his way of life and folding it into our own, as we’ve already been doing. His lessons of selflessness, sacrifice, loving without condition, hard work, tenacity, audacity, cunning, and integrity will live on forever through us and those around us.”

He then concluded with a beautiful sentiment. “You were and are the essence of a man,” Barash finished. “A father. A family. You are physically and tangibly gone but you never will be truly gone. Rest peacefully and in love. The OG Fathership.”

Our thoughts are with Barash and his entire family during this difficult time.
