Constance Towers Returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL as Helena Cassadine!

They say evil never dies, and that’s especially true when it comes to soap villains, especially the Cassadines. Helena Cassadine is returning to GENERAL HOSPITAL to wreak even more havoc in Port Charles! Highlight Hollywood is reporting that Constance Towers will be reprising her role just in time for February Sweeps! Originally scheduled to begin airing on Wednesday, Feb. 5, with the recent preemptions due to ABC News coverage, her air dates will be pushed back by a week or so. 

Helena’s appearance seems to be another brief one, just a couple episodes, so it’s likely that this will be flashbacks as her last appearance in August of 2019 where the Cassadine factored into Drew and Shiloh’s past in Afghanistan. Could Peter’s connection with Helena finally be about to be exposed? You’ll have to tune in to find out!

The character of Helena Cassadine was first introduced back in the fall of 1981 and was played by GH fan Elizabeth Taylor in a special guest appearance. When she returned to Port Charles in 1997 full-time, the role was taken over by Towers. She made frequent appearances over the years, but her nefarious schemes seemed to come to an end in 2016 when she passed away. Still, Helena has reached out from “beyond the grave” in various nightmares and also in flashbacks when it was revealed that she was the one who planned to have Jake Webber release the Chimera Virus during the 2017 Nurses Ball!
