Just a couple months shy of their third anniversary, real-life GENERAL HOSPITAL couple Kirsten Storms (Maxie) and Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny) announced that they were filing for divorce. The split is reportedly amicable, and the pair will continue to co-parent two-year-old daughter Harper. After the dust from their shocking revelation had settled, the actors took to social media to share their personal feelings with their fans.
“This was not a decision we arrived at hastily,” Barash posted to Instagram, “as it required intensive emotional labor. We will continue to allow our love for one another to evolve into an existence where our friendship and sense of family will live on and thrive as we successfully raise and co-parent our true love, Harper Rose.
“We appreciate your undying love and support over the years,” he added. “Don’t stop now!”
Storms also expressed her gratitude to her fans. “Your love and support is very meaningful to me and my family through this transition,” she posted to her own Instagram. “I feel comforted knowing Brandon and I will stop at nothing to keep our daughter happy.
“Our journey together started with years of friendship,” she continued, “and we are happy to know we will carry that bond moving forward.”
