Happy Birthday to GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Kelly Monaco — See Her Hottest Red Carpet Looks!

Best wishes to GENERAL HOSPITAL star Kelly Monaco (Sam) who is celebrating her birthday today! The actress started her career off as Playboy’s Playmate of the Month in 1997, then landed a role on BAYWATCH playing rookie lifeguard Susan. She also appeared in the films BASEketball, Idle Hands, and Mumford. In 1999, Monaco joined the GH spinoff PORT CHARLES as Livvie Locke, and her pairing with Michael Easton’s Caleb on the short-lived soap became a fan favorite with a devoted legion of avid fans. She also earned a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 2003 for her work on the supernatural sudser.

Following the cancelation of PORT CHARLES, Monaco joined GH as mysterious con woman Samantha McCall in September of 2003. This character also became popular with daytime viewers, and Jason and Sam became a massive soap supercouple fans nicknamed “JaSam”. Monaco earned another Daytime Emmy nomination in 2006 for her work as Sam, this time in the Lead Actress category.

In 2005, Monaco competed in the first season of DANCING WITH THE STARS opposite professional partner Alec Mazo, and at the end of the season, was crowned the winner and awarded the mirrorball trophy. She returned as one of the all-stars for DANCING’s 15th season, dancing with Valentin Chmerkovskiy, but this time only placed third.
