GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Parry Shen Previews His New Movie, ‘Automation’ (EXCLUSIVE)

Tags:

A lot of GENERAL HOSPITAL viewers don’t particularly care for Brad Cooper, but they’re big fans of actor Parry Shen, who plays the scheming character. Well, now they can get a look at Shen in a whole new light when they watch him play Alan in the new sci-fi thriller, Automation! “It’s a movie about this robot that is doing too good of a job,” the actor previewed to Soaps In Depth. “So the workers sort of revolt against the robot and the robot gets a little crazy and it becomes a horror movie. I play the guy who created the robot. I’m basically trying to replace it with a better robot and the robot doesn’t like that. It’s kind of my fault, I think, what happens to everybody!”

Sounds like Shen may have been typecast a little bit as a troublemaker! His character in Automation creates a robot to do factory work, but it was originally built for military service, and while “Auto” is perfectly happy to replace humans in the factory, he gets a little taken aback when he finds he may be replaced with newer, upgraded robots. And naturally, mayhem ensues! Check out a preview for this dark comedy here and you’ll even get a glimpse of Shen’s movie character meeting a fate many GH fans would like to see happen to Brad!

Automation is out now on Blu-ray and VOD. It is available from various digital download services including iTunes, Vudu, Google, and more.
