Parry Shen Reveals What It’s Like Working With Twins Erik and Theo Olson on GH (EXCLUSIVE)

The late W.C. Fields advised his fellow actors, “Never work with children or animals. They are scene-stealing and completely unpredictable.” Parry Shen (Brad, GENERAL HOSPITAL) might agree with the latter, but he told Soaps In Depth that Erik and Theo Olson, the year-old twins who share the role of Wiley Cooper- Jones, are a joy! “They’re very friendly and clap on cue!” he revealed. “One time, my line was, ‘My kid needs his nap.’ And all of a sudden, he napped right on cue! I was like, ‘What the heck?’”

Since the performer often has to wing it when working with the little ones, he said it helps to be able to draw from real-life experience. When lugging a baby carrier around, “the muscle memory kicks in,” the father of two laughed. “Whereas Ryan [Carnes, Lucas] isn’t a parent, so he’s a little more awkward with it. [Executive producer] Frank Valentini will sometimes say, ‘Hey, Parry, show Ryan how to hold that thing!’”
