Sarah Webber on GENERAL HOSPITAL — Everything You Need to Know
It’s been so long since viewers have seen Sarah Webber on GENERAL HOSPITAL, and even when she was on, it wasn’t for long, so it’s understandable that they’d be confused when her name comes up. The character was first introduced in June of 1997 when Jennifer Sky joined the cast of GH. She left a year later in June of 1998, then resurfaced again in early 2002 for six months and played by actress Sarah Laine. But she hasn’t been seen in Port Charles since, just mentioned on rare occasions.
Sarah first came to town to take care of Audrey Hardy after she had undergone brain surgery. She quickly became close with Lucky Spencer, but clashed with Nikolas Cassadine. Shortly after Sarah arrived in Port Charles, she was joined by her younger sister, Elizabeth Webber, who resented her sibling and was often trying to ruin her life.
After developing feelings for Nikolas, Sarah began dating the Cassadine prince, but after he was shot and lost the ability to speak properly, he refused to see her for months, putting a strain on their relationship and ultimately breaking them up. A newly-single Sarah turned to Lucky, but he was more interested in Liz. The two sisters finally acted like family after Liz was sexually assaulted. Sarah left Port Charles to visit their parents in Europe in 1998.
When Sarah returned in 2002, the old resentments with Liz resurfaced, and Sarah made a play for Lucky. They began seeing each other behind Liz’s back and when she found out, she cut Sarah and Lucky out of her life. Now that Lucky was officially single, Sarah could have dated him publicly, but the magic was apparently gone, and she left again.
Audrey mentioned that Sarah had gone back to Europe, but in 2013, Sarah was said to be living in Monterey, California. Whether or not Sarah might make another appearance on the soap when Liz walks down the aisle with Franco remains to be seen. You’ll have to stay tuned to find out!
