GENERAL HOSPITAL Alum Amber Tamblyn Writing Two New Books!

Tags:

Amber Tamblyn (ex-Emily, GENERAL HOSPITAL) has just announced that she is going to be publishing two new books with Harper Perennial, one novel and one collection of poetry and prose! “I’m about to show you how dangerous women can be,” she tweeted.

According to Harper Perennial’s release, Tamblyn’s novel will be about “an amorphous serial rapist that breaks ground on how we contemplate rape culture.”

“It is a great honor to be publishing the prodigiously talented Amber Tamblyn’s two new books,” said Laura Brown, Associate Editor at Harper Perennial. “With her unique, voice-driven style, she brings to the page the startling realities and vulnerabilities of a culture that trivializes abuse against women. My hope is that her debut novel and new collection of poetry will embolden women everywhere to find their voice and speak out against abuse.”

In 2005, Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing published Tamblyn’s debut book of poems titled Free Stallion. A second collection of poetry, Bang Ditto, was published in 2009 by Manic D Press. And in 2014, Harper Collins published Dark Sparkler, which explored the lives and deaths of child star actresses.

Tamblyn has always been outspoken about women’s rights and sharing her political views. As a vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton this year, she even joined friends Amy Schumer and America Ferrera in the Clinton camp at the Javits Center on Election Day.

“These books will be everything women are not allowed to be,” Tamblyn declared. “Ugly, violent, unlikeable, corrupt, revolting and dangerous. Get ready.”

We’re not sure we’re ready, but we’re eager to read the books when they’re published in 2018!

These books aren’t the only delivery Tamblyn will be making in the near future — in 2017, she and husband David Cross are expecting their first child together!
