GH Wins The Writers Guild Award!
Congratulations to GENERAL HOSPITAL headwriter Ron Carlivati and his entire team for their win this weekend in the Daytime Drama category of the Writers Guild Awards! (GH beat out DAYS OF OUR LIVES for the trophy.)
“It’s hard to pick three shows that represent the whole year of what you’ve done,” Carlivati confided to Soaps In Depth immediately following his win. “I like to find something thematic. So we used the death of Patrick and Sabrina’s baby. The first one was a Nurses Ball episode where the baby was sick in the hospital. The second one was the baby actually died. The third one was when Sabrina had not accepted that the baby had died.
“There was some other wonderful stuff in those shows,” he added. “There were some great Anna/Duke scenes. There were just some other stuff that made them shine, for me, which is why we chose them.”
This is Carlivati’s first Writers Guild Award, and he tells us he plans to keep it in his study where he works and writes.
