Madeline Caught Red-Handed!

Silas, Sam and Nathan had it all planned out on Friday’s GENERAL HOSPITAL. The idea was to plant a story in the newspaper that would lure Ava to the Metro Court Hotel to “finish off” Nakamura, the man who was the only witness to what really happened to Nina. But their trap snared an all-together different rat they never expected to catch!

The scene at Metro Court was set with Sam hiding under the bed covers posing as Nakamura and Nathan waiting in the other room for Ava to sneak in and make the kill. When the hotel door opened into the darkened room, a manicured hand pulled out a gigantic syringe and tiptoed to the bed to slay “Nakamura.” Nathan quickly flipped on the lights and, with gun drawn, shouted, “Freeze! PCPD!” His mouth dropped open when he realized the would-be assassin wasn’t Ava at all, but rather his mother, Madeline!

Meanwhile at GH, a warn out Britt took a call at the nurses’ desk and was shocked to hear her mother on the other end. Obrecht was mighty proud of herself for not only getting her daughter released from police custody, but also for absconding with baby Ben! She wanted Britt to be happy and she knew that running away with “her son” would do it. Obrecht had worked out all the details of Britt’s future, including a new home in a new country with a new identity for both Britt and Ben. Finally, Britt folded, pulled out a pen and paper and asked her mother where she was. Although Britt knew that what Obrecht had suggested was wrong, there was something that sounded heavenly about running off with Ben and starting a new life. “God help me,” she told Brad. “I want my son.”

Dante and Lulu wanted him, too. While he was working diligently trying to get a warrant to put Britt under surveillance, Lulu told Nikolas how her talk with Liz really buoyed her spirits. Nik mentioned his own visit with Liz and how discouraged he was that Ric spent the night with her. Lulu put that myth to rest, assuring him otherwise. But then, who was it that he heard in Liz’s house if it wasn’t Ric? He showed up at Liz’s door and asked the same question, but Liz didn’t need to answer. Obrecht stepped in behind her with a gun in her hand and said, “That would be me.”
