ONE LIFE TO LIVE Alum Melissa Fumero’s Feelings About Losing the Baby Weight Are So Relatable
Former ONE LIFE TO LIVE star Melissa Fumero (Adriana) opened up on Twitter about something that every mom can relate to — losing the baby weight after giving birth to your child! After THE MINDY PROJECT and ROSEANNE actress Xosha Roquemore, who just gave birth to her baby, tweeted about how awful “snapback” culture is expecting moms to just bounce right back to their pre-baby weight, Fumero quickly agreed.
“Preach, girl!” she tweeted. “Took me 18 months to lose all the baby weight, and only because I was working crazy hours did the last bit come off. Grateful to work on a show where nobody cared, and that’s how it should be everywhere.” Fumero, who now stars as Amy Santiago on BROOKLYN NINE-NINE, gave birth to her and husband David Fumero’s (Cristian, OLTL) son, Enzo, in March of 2016.
And when a fan replied to her on Twitter thanking Fumero for her comment because it made her feel better for not already having her pre-pregnancy body back two-and-a-half months after giving birth, the actress was seriously supportive. “Girl, no!” she declared. “You’re still healing! Be kind to yourself. You’re doing the hardest job ever and still in the weeds. It takes time. Do it on your own terms.”
Fumero also agreed with Twitter user who also pointed out that it should also be okay if you just can’t lose the baby weight at all. And when another person admitted they had accepted that they were still carrying baby weight three years later but hate when people would point out her stretch marks, she responded: “Your body made a baby. What did their bodies do?!”
While we can’t enjoy Fumero’s feistiness as Adrianna Cramer on OLTL anymore, at least we can take heart that we can still see her on BROOKLYN NINE-NINE now that NBC has picked up the sitcom after it was canceled by FOX this year!
