Two Former GH Stars React To Emmy Noms

Tags:

When Lindsey Morgan (ex-Kristina) woke up this morning to a text from her manager, she worried she’d gotten the call time wrong for her appearance on FRANKLIN & BASH before she saw that it said “Congratulations!” “I’m stunned,” she confesses of her Younger Actress Emmy nomination. “I’m still so shocked. I’m so honored. Kristen Alderson (ex-Starr) was nominated, too. We’ve already talked to each other about ‘We’ve got to go dress shopping!'”

Naturally, she earned the nomination with the emotional episode where Joe Jr. took Kristina hostage. “It was one of my favorite storylines,” Morgan admits. “Sometimes I’m afraid of being too big and sometimes I’m too little. That storyline gave me the freedom to realize that it doesn’t matter how I react because I”m scared. My life was on the line. It was difficult on my body physically and mentally, but it was also freeing because she thought her life was about to end.”

Another GH alum, Julie Marie Berman (ex-Lulu) also awoke to the news that she was up for an Emmy, in the Supporting Actress category. “It was definitely a surprise and a really fun way to wake up,” she says. “It’s really nice to feel acknowledged. You don’t expect it, and you don’t necessarily need it, but when it happens, it’s wonderful.

“I submitted the episode where Lulu opens up to Luke about her drinking,” Berman adds. “They reconcile their relationship. It was a very, very special day at work with Tony Geary (Luke) and it was one of the last times I had really meaningful material with him.”

The actress is looking forward to seeing her on-screen pop again as well as all her former castmates on Emmy night. “It definitely was one of the first thoughts that came to my head was that I get to see all of my friends again,” Berman declares. “I’m so, so excited to see everyone. It’s going to be so much fun!”
