Update From Prospect Park

Ever since ABC Daytime announced on July 7 that they’d reached a licensing deal with Prospect Park to continue production of ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE by moving them to the Internet, there have been few additional details regarding the situation. And while information is still scant, for the first time, Prospect Park is finally speaking out. “The love and support for AMC and OLTL is truly amazing,” the company said in a statement released July 25. “Since we announced our intention to work with the shows, the fan outreach we’ve experienced over the past few weeks further validates our decision to work to keep them going for years to come. However, we also respect the organizations and processes that are in place so that all can apply their craft within the appropriate guilds and unions. We are in the process of working out the essential terms of our proposed collective bargaining agreements with the appropriate guilds and unions, which we must do prior to firming up deals with above- and below-the-line talent. We will provide updates as needed.”

That would explain why, as Soaps In Depth reported last week, the cast of AMC still hadn’t been approached to negotiate contracts with Prospect Park, despite their looming final day as an ABC production. We will keep you posted as this story develops!
