ABC Cancels GRAND HOTEL

Tags:

Sadly, GRAND HOTEL is closing its doors. The primetime sudser that starred GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Bryan Craig (ex-Morgan) has been canceled by ABC after just one season. According to Variety, GRAND HOTEL averaged around 2.7 million total viewers across its 13 episodes. As the final episode aired on Sept. 9, Craig was still hopeful the series would be renewed for a second season and urged fans to show their support on social media, but in the end, it didn’t work out.

Based on the 2011 telenovela GRAN HOTEL, GRAND HOTEL was executive produced by Eva Longoria (ex-Isabella, THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS), who also appeared in a few episodes as well. In addition to Craig, the cast also included daytime alums Roselyn Sanchez (Pilar, AS THE WORLD TURNS) and Denyse Tontz (Miranda, ALL MY CHILDREN). Also, Ava and Grace Scarola, who play Avery, Morgan’s baby sister on GH, guest-starred in an episode as a younger version of Tontz’s character, Alicia!

With GRAND HOTEL not returning for a second season, that would free Craig up to reprise the role of Morgan on GH, since the troubled young man’s body was never recovered from the devastating explosion that took his life. However, the talented actor has been doing quite well since leaving daytime, so a return might not even be on his radar. Only time will tell! But you can
