A familiar face will be arriving in Port Charles as Michael E. Knight joins the cast of GENERAL HOSPITAL beginning on Monday, Sept. 30! The actor is best known for playing Tad "The Cad" Martin on ALL MY CHILDREN on and off from 1982-2011, a role that earned him two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Younger Leading Man in 1986 and 1987 and one for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2001.
Knight has already begun taping episodes, but while Entertainment Weekly had a first look at him on the GH set, they couldn't get the soap to spill the beans on who he would be playing. The only thing we know for sure is that he won't be Tad. "There are a number of people in Port Charles who are in trouble and his character will have an impact on how their stories are solved or further complicated," teased headwriter Chris Van Etten.
After AMC came to an end, Knight made primetime appearances in DROP DEAD DIVA and NCIS, then returned to daytime to play Dr. Simon Neville on CBS sudser THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS, where he recurred in 2015 and 2016.
AMC fans will likely be hoping that Knight's character will share scenes with Valentine, because not only is the Cassadine's portrayer, James Patrick Stuart, a former AMC castmate (he played Will Cortlandt back in the early '90s) but the two guys are also close friends.
