On ALL MY CHILDREN’S Anniversary, See the Changing Cast Through the Years!

It was 54 years ago that television audiences were introduced to the lives and loves of the residents of Pine Valley when ALL MY CHILDREN premiered on ABC on January 5, 1970. And for more than four decades, fans thrilled to the romance and adventure in the small suburb of Pennsylvania where the Martins, Chandlers, Hubbards, and more families resided.

From its premiere in 1970 until its last episode, AMC had legions of loyal fans who tuned in every day to see the latest drama in Pine Valley. The soap began as a 30-minute serial when it launched, but in 1977 it expanded to give viewers a full hour of daytime drama. Agnes Nixon’s creation earned multiple Daytime Emmy Awards over the years, including three for Outstanding Drama Series in 1992, 1994, and 1998.

Stars like Susan Lucci (Erica) and David Canary (Adam/Stuart) remained with the soap for decades, while others like Debbi Morgan (Angie), Michael E. Knight (Tad), and Cady McClain (Dixie) came and went over the years. AMC was also the launching pad for stars like Sarah Michelle Gellar (Kendall), Kelly Ripa (Hayley), and Cameron Mathison (Ryan).

Sadly, AMC aired its final network episode on Sept. 23, 2011. A brief revival from The Online Network that was available on Hulu sadly only lasted for a handful of months in 2013, bringing the entire saga to an end. There has been work done on bringing the soap back in primetime with a series titled PINE VALLEY, though it has not yet been produced.
