AMC Names New Headwriter
In the wake of rumors that ABC Daytime may be canceling both ONE LIFE TO LIVE and ALL MY CHILDREN comes a glimmer of hope for the latter: a new scribe will soon be taking over the lives of Pine Valley’s denizens. As first reported exclusively by Soaps In Depth via Twitter over the weekend, former AMC headwriter Lorraine Broderick will be returning to the top scribe position with the soap, replacing David Kreizman and Donna Swajeski.
Broderick — whom sources say signed a multi-year contract with ABC — joined the AMC writing staff in 1979, working her way up through the ranks until she was named headwriter in 1987. She’d also held that position at GUIDING LIGHT and ANOTHER WORLD, as well as being a member of the writing teams at AS THE WORLD TURNS, PORT CHARLES, DAYS OF OUR LIVES and OLTL. The multiple Emmy winner returned to AMC in 2009 as associate headwriter.
