With her evil schemes falling part around her, it looks like Nelle will finally get what's coming to her! Although the soap declined to comment on her exit, word is that Chloe Lanier is leaving GENERAL HOSPITAL, where she has played the scheming Nelle Benson since August of 2016. Castmate Marc Anthony Samuel (Felix) even commented on one of her Instagram posts to say: "I’m bummed we never got to work together! Hopefully out in the world one day. Good luck!"
In 2015, Lanier appeared on GH as a Young Patricia Spencer for two episodes as part of the soap’s 52nd anniversary, and when the role of Nelle was conceived, she was cast as the mysterious young woman who turned out to be Carly’s adopted sister. She was nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in both 2017 and 2018, taking home the gold the second time around.

The character of Nelle proved polarizing, with many fans disliking how she caused trouble for Carly and Sonny. In fact, it reached a point where Lanier had to speak out against the online bullying she was receiving from fans who blamed her for her character's actions! When the young woman rekindled her relationship with Michael and became pregnant, it almost seemed as though she might be redeemable, but then she went all out gaslighting Carly and getting her locked up in Ferncliff to get her out of Michael’s life! Of course, with a character this unpredictable, there’s no telling exactly how Nelle could be ushered off the canvas.

Outside of daytime, Lanier has appeared in primetime series like ARMY WIVES, NCIS, and KINGDOM. And with her Emmy Award-winning talent, we have no doubt that the actress will continue to wow her fans with more incredible performances in the future. And we will obviously keep you up to date on where and when you can see her on screen again. But for now, keep tuning in to see what happens to Nelle, because if she has really wrapped up taping in July, she should air into August!
