Amy is going to be having another visit from her brother, Chet, when Chris Van Etten returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL. The real-life military veteran-turned-actor revealed the news during the 2018 Daytime Emmy Awards ceremony when he took the stage to help present the award for Outstanding Younger Actor. "I have new scenes airing this week," Van Etten announced.
The character of Chet was introduced when Amy came up with the elaborate "Ask Man Landers" scheme to help earn money to pay for her sibling's medical care. “My brother!” enthused Risa Dorken (Amy) on Twitter. “You guys will love him as much as I do! Welcome to the GH (and Driscoll) family, Chris!” The soldier-turned-actor made his debut in the episode that aired Nov. 8, 2017.

The United States Marine Corps veteran might look familiar to some from his modeling contract with Jockey underwear. And amusingly, this isn’t Van Etten’s first brush with GH. Back in August, the soap announced that Chris Van Etten was going to join Jean Passanante as co-headwriter, and some people when googling the name, got the two men confused! “Congratulations to the other Chris Van Etten for his new position at GH,” the vet joked on Twitter, “according to everyone confusing me for him.” Of course now the writer Chris Van Etten will be penning dialogue for the soldier/model/actor Chris Van Etten, which is just crazy when you think about it!
Chet was struggling with drug addiction during Van Etten's last stint in Port Charles, so what will happen this time? Amy is probably hoping for good news this time, but with soap operas, you never can tell! So stay tuned to see what happens.
