Comedienne Carol Burnett Returns To AMC

She’s a mega-star in her own right, but award-winning actress Carol Burnett is an ALL MY CHILDREN fan who has been able to guest star on her favorite soap several times. And now, Burnett will bring Verla Grubbs back to Pine Valley once more before the show airs its finale in September. “It is our honor and pleasure to welcome back Carol Burnett to Pine Valley. Verla Grubbs is a beloved member of the All My Children family and we look forward to reprising her character,” says executive producer Julie Hanan Carruthers.

Burnett made her first appearance as Verla in 1983 as the long-lost daughter of Langley Wallingford. She returned in 1984 to appear in an AMC scene with the late Ruth Warrick (Phoebe) and guest star Elizabeth Taylor. In celebration of the soap’s 25th Anniversary in 1995, Burnett appeared on the soap once again, also hosting a primetime special. She last reprised Verla Grubbs in 2005 for the soap’s 35th Anniversary episode.

Burnett’s episodes are scheduled to air in September. Look for Verla to cross paths with Susan Lucci‘s Erica and Jill Larson‘s Opal.
