Rumors have been floating around for a little while, but now it is official. Dominic Zamprogna is leaving GENERAL HOSPITAL. “So you’ve been asking,” the actor tweeted on June 14. “I feel I owe it to you awesome fans to tell you that I’ve taped my final scenes. Going to miss you and my GH fam. Good things happening, tho. More to come.” Then, two weeks later, he shared a selfie taken on the PCPD set likely on his final day, given the sad look on his face, and expressed his gratitude to his loyal fans. "The love you guys have given me over the years and continue to give is overwhelming," he tweeted. "It is I that must thank you."
Zamprogna joined the cast of GH in June of 2009 as Dominic Perelli, who was later revealed to be Dante Falconeri, the son of infamous mob boss Sonny Corinthos. Over the years, his pairing with Lulu Spencer created a very popular super couple fans nicknamed “Lante.” At this time there is no information on how Dante will be written off of the show or if the role will be recast.

Fans began speculating last month that he might be leaving the soap after Zamprogna tweeted: "Goin' with my gut." That could have meant anything, but when Ryan Paevey (ex-Nathan) replied with "That's the only way," fans immediately assumed that exchange was regarding his future at GH given that Paevey had recently exited the soap himself.
Zamprogna’s final air date has not yet been announced, but we’ll keep you up to date as it approaches and we’ll certainly keep you informed of any new projects he has in the works after leaving daytime.
