Duhamel To Narrate New Series About Navy Special Ops

Tags:

Josh Duhamel (Leo, ALL MY CHILDREN) has a new TV role… but it’s not one that will bring his gorgeous smile to the screen. The actor — who played a former Marine on LAS VEGAS and Capt. Lennox in the Transformers movie franchise — will serve as the narrator on the new hour-long, 10 episode documentary series BOMB PATROL: AFGHANISTAN, premiering Tuesday, October 10, on the cable network G4.

The documentary follows an 8-man unit from the U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), the premier combat force for countering Improvised Explosive Devices, Weapons of Mass Destruction and all other types of weaponry during their 5-month campaign in Afghanistan. “It is truly an honor to be able to partner with G4 to give viewers a look inside the world of the courageous men and women who put their lives on the line to keep soldiers and civilians safe,” Duhamel says in a press release. “BOMB PATROL: AFGHANISTAN is a one-of-a-kind series that shows these real-life heroes using the most advanced technology our military has to disarm explosives, gather evidence, and fight terrorists.”

More than 15 cameras — including both helmet and body-mounted — were utilized to capture the 5-month tour of EOD Platoon 342. The series will allow viewers to not only witness the special ops team’s life-or-death missions, but also some light-hearted moments shared between the brothers-in-arms. For more information on the series, visit www.g4tv.com/bombpatrol or www.facebook.com/BombPatrol. BOMB PATROL: AFGHANISTAN will air Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on G4, starting October 25. Check local listings to see if G4 is carried by your cable provider.
