GH Alum Brianna Brown Grateful to Still Be Working While Pregnant

Actress Brianna Brown not only shared a selfie showing off her growing baby bump, but she also shared a heartfelt message regarding the treatment pregnant actresses in Hollywood receive. Best known to soap fans for her role as the villainous Dr. Lisa Niles on GENERAL HOSPITAL, Brown announced her pregnancy at the beginning of March and is grateful that she has still been able to work.

“In an industry that is a visual medium and hyper-critical of women, I am grateful to be able to be on camera while preggers,” she wrote. “And especially thankful to have a team and production company welcoming this phase of my life. Often actresses are scared to show their bump because their storylines could be written off, potential job opportunities can suddenly disappear, they can be dropped by their team, or made to be ashamed at work for choosing to have both a family and a career.

“Kudos to all the badass women and men in front of and behind the camera who are helping change this dysfunctional norm so all women can have full lives and don’t have to sacrifice one part for the other,” Brown concluded.

Brown looks absolutely radiant with her pregnancy glow. And while she shared another selfie where she looks a little exhausted, it was perfectly understandable. “It’s 1am in Atlanta and only one more scene left to shoot tonight,” she explained. While the actress didn’t mention exactly what she was filming, she has been appearing as Claudia Blaisdel in the DYNASTY reboot on The CW, which just so happens to shoot in Atlanta. Might Claudia be coming back to the series for the season finale?

After leaving GH, Brown has kept very busy with roles on DEVIOUS MAIDS, NCIS: NEW ORLEANS, and EASTSIDERS. And it’s good to know that just because she and husband Richie Keen are expecting a baby, it’s not going to slow her down! Looking forward to seeing her on screen again as well as seeing all those cute baby pics once the new addition arrives!
