If you noticed that Brooklyn Rae Silzer’s hair was quite long during her most recent appearances as Emma on GENERAL HOSPITAL, well, it turns out there was a very good reason for it! The talented young performer was growing her hair out so that she could donate it to the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Fund! “Fresh summer cut for a great cause!” her mom shared on Instagram.
Pantene’s Beautiful Lengths Fund collects either eight inches of hair or eight dollars to help create real-hair wigs for women fighting cancer so that they can feel like themselves again. Such a wonderful thing for Silzer to do!
Fans praised the generous donation in her Instagram comments, but when some noticed the different colors of Silzer’s hair in the side-by-side photos, they couldn’t believe that her parents were letting someone so young dye their hair. But the actress’ mother quickly responded: “No hair coloring, just a cut — it might have been the lighting!”
In addition to her fans, Silzer’s co-stars also chimed in to compliment her on the donation and new ‘do! Haley Pullos (Molly) posted a row of heart emoji, Nicolas Bechtel (Spencer) wrote “so cute,” and Hayley Erin (Kiki) declared: “I love it!”
Recently, June 14 marked Silzer’s sixth anniversary being cast as Emma Drake on GH. “I was in preschool then and so grateful that I have been able to grow up on the show!” she shared. “Thanks so much to the loving cast, crew, writers of GH, and the amazing fans who have been on this journey with me! Super blessed to have been nurtured and loved by the kindest, most talented TV parents, Jason Thompson (ex-Patrick; Billy THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS) and Kimberly McCullough (Robin)!”
