GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Carolyn Hennesy Stars in the Topical New Film ‘She & Her’

Tags:

Fans of GENERAL HOSPITAL actress and Daytime Emmy Award winner Carolyn Hennesy (Diane) will soon be able to see her in a whole new role in the short film She & Her, directed by GH production associate and independent filmmaker Nate Hapke! Hennesy stars as Poppy Sinclaire, a former actress forced to confront her past and re-examine her present when a young actress and an old friend come crashing into her life.

She & Her tackles the current issues of women in Hollywood, sharing themes with the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements. “This story would be ripe for the telling at any point in the history of the industry,” Hennesy said in a statement. “As we all know, so much has happened from the first frame shot decades ago to the fall of Weinstein… things that have been brushed over, hushed up, and taken to the grave. A beautiful script like this, in the right hands all around, will continue the push forward toward ending abuse in any area of show business — and life — once and for all. I’m proud to be a part of it.”

Rounding out the all-female cast are Mackenzie Breeden and former GH casting associate Gwen Hillier. “I’m incredibly excited about the team we’ve assembled and the story we’re setting out to tell,” Hapke said. “It’s an incredibly important one, and I’m honored to be working with this group of powerful and accomplished women to share Poppy’s story.”

She & Her is scheduled to begin filming in Los Angeles in June, and will premiere on the 2019 festival circuit. For more details on the film, don’t miss an exclusive interview with Hennesy in an upcoming ABC issue of Soaps In Depth magazine!
