There’s another new face in Port Charles as Kelsey Wang has joined the cast of GENERAL HOSPITAL as Daisy. The actress made her debut in the Sept. 26 episode as Daisy was seen passing out fliers for an upcoming concert in Charlie’s Pub, and Kristina seemed quite interested. “Finally able to tell this little secret!” Wang shared on Instagram when the news broke. “Thank you, GH, for the opportunity to tell Daisy’s story and Parry Shen for showing me the ropes my first day! Let’s see who Daisy becomes friends with in Port Charles!”
Born in Beijing, Wang lived in Singapore and moved to the US when she was seven, growing up in Dallas, TX. Her first IMDb credit is listed as the role of “vendor” in a 2011 episode of CBS sudser THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. She has also appeared on television in DAREDEVIL and JOURNEY TO THE EAST as well as the films The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and Battle B-Boy.
When Shen first tweeted out the photo of Wang, GH fans immediately started speculating about who Daisy could be with many hoping she would be part of Brad’s family. Due to the actress’ Asian heritage, many agreed she wasn’t likely to be playing Nina’s long-lost daughter or Brad and Lucas’ adopted son’s birth mother.
However, since one of Daisy’s first interactions on screen was with Kristina, who has recently returned to Port Charles after splitting up with her girlfriend, Parker, could she possibly be a new love interest for Sonny and Alexis’ daughter? Kristina did seem quite interested in the concert! You’ll just have to stay tuned to find out, and for more GH casting news, keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth magazine!
