GENERAL HOSPITAL’s James Patrick Stuart Says Goodbye to Beloved Family Pet

Tags:

Please join us in sending love to GENERAL HOSPITAL star James Patrick Stuart (Valentin), who is saying a final farewell to a furry family member. “Delilah heads to the vet for the last time this morning,” he reported on Twitter. “She stuck around longer than anyone expected but she can no longer eat or drink. She spent the whole night curled up on my chest with her head beneath my chin as if she knew it was goodbye.”

Back in March, Stuart admitted that their rescue cat had fallen ill and they were preparing to say goodbye. “Delilah was a rescue,” he posted to Instagram. “She’s been our good friend for 12 years and helped us raise our boys. She’s very sick and won’t be with us much longer, but I wouldn’t have changed a minute. #love”

Stuart and his wife, Jocelyn, are both animal lovers, especially rescue animals like Delilah and their two puppies. “Wanted a retriever,” Stuart confided on Twitter, “but my wife wanted a Bijon. We compromised and got a Bijon. His name’s Flint and he’s a rescue.”

The GH star also shared a video of a cockatiel named Mochi sitting on his knee in the living room as he tried to teach it to sing “Happy Birthday” to him (although it didn’t quite turn out as he’d hoped). He also posted another pic of a different bird just hanging out on his shoulder while he was trying to read his script!

Pets are truly members of the family, and our thoughts go out to Stuart and his entire family during this difficult time. For more on your favorite GH stars, keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
