GENERAL HOSPITAL’s John Stamos Joins ‘The Little Mermaid Live!’
A daytime alum is preparing to go “under the sea” again as GENERAL HOSPITAL alum John Stamos (ex-Blackie) joins the cast of the upcoming The Wonderful World of Disney Presents The Little Mermaid Live!. Stamos will be reprising the role of Chef Louis, the character he played during the Hollywood Bowl production earlier this year. The television special is scheduled to air on Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
The Little Mermaid Live! will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Disney animated classic through a hybrid format that combines live musical performances by a star-studded cast interwoven into scenes from the original feature film. Stamos joins previously-announced cast members Auli’i Cravalho (Ariel), Queen Latifah (Ursula), Shaggy (Sebastian), and Graham Phillips (Prince Eric).
Stamos launched his career playing the popular Blackie Parrish on GH back in the ’80s, and in addition to acting on shows like FULL HOUSE and ER, he is also a talented musician, most famously playing with The Beach Boys. He also has extensive stage experience, making his Broadway debut in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying as well as appearing in Bye Bye Birdie, The Best Man, Cabaret, and Nine.
