Actor Jon Lindstrom, best known for playing Dr. Kevin Collins on GENERAL HOSPITAL, has shared a photo from his new movie, and he is practically unrecognizable! He is playing the character of Vincent in the new horror thriller The Great Illusion, and the sleazy pimp is a far cry from GH’s kindly psychiatrist. “Thrilled to be working with this exciting new director and an extraordinary cast,” Lindstrom declared on Twitter.
The Great Illusion tells the story of a tortured FBI agent suffering from an irrational fear of darkness as he investigates a mysterious former prostitute in order to catch a vicious serial killer. And as a pimp, Lindstrom’s character will likely hold some crucial clues to the investigation. The film is directed by Maria Gabriela Cardenas and written by her and Oscar Cardenas. The cast also includes Selma Blair, Julie Gonzalo, Graham Green, and Bill Bellamy.
The film began shooting earlier in June, but Lindstrom only began working with them on June 21. “Day 14 for them,” he shared on Instagram. “Day one for me. So excited (and scared) to be ‘Vincent’!” GH fans who remember Lindstrom’s portrayal of Kevin’s evil twin, Ryan Chamberlain, already know the actor can do evil and nasty quite well!
Lindstrom’s daytime resume also includes roles as Mark on SANTA BARBARA and Craig on AS THE WORLD TURNS, as well as primetime appearances in series like CSI, BLUE BLOODS, TRUE DETECTIVE, and S.W.A.T.. He’s also appeared in films like God’s Not Dead 2 and How We Got Away With It. Unfortunately, as The Great Illusion is still filming, it’s not likely to see a release until 2019, although it’s possible the horror thriller could be released in time for Halloween of this year.
