Just like any workplace, GENERAL HOSPITAL has safety drills from time to time, and on Oct. 29, the cast and crew participated in a fire drill. Luckily for fans, Kirsten Storms (Maxie) was able to document some of the shenanigans on her Instagram! First, she shared a photo of Matt Cohen (Griffin) getting in a little stretching while helping out. “Matt Cohen holding the doors for the ladies,” she joked. “Such a gentleman.”
Then a bit later, Storms posted a photo of a rather befuddled-looking Josh Swickard (Chase) wearing his brightly-colored “Crisis Management Team Group Leader” vest (featuring an adorable illustration of Mickey Mouse in a fireman outfit). “When we have a fire drill, they put Josh Swickard in charge,” she teased, adding the hashtag “#wearedoomed.”
Thankfully, despite Swickard’s expression — and the fact that there are people just sort of milling about by the exit instead of actively leaving, apparently the fire drill was a success. “Don’t worry,” the actor assured fans on Twitter the following day in response to Storms’ post. “Everyone was safe and accounted for. #igotthis”
It’s good to know that Swickard isn’t just good at protecting people when playing a cop on GH, but can do it in real life, too. Hopefully, there won’t ever be an actual fire, but at least the cast and crew are prepared just in case! For more on your favorite GH stars, keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth magazine!
