November 4 was a very special day for GENERAL HOSPITAL star Laura Wright — it marked the anniversary of the day she first aired as Carly Corinthos on the ABC soap! "14 years ago today Port Charles became my home and I'm so grateful!" the actress exclaimed on Instagram. "I love Carly so much! A big hug and thank you to the amazing GH fans — you have embraced me and supported me! I am one lucky lady!"
Wright's GH castmates and friends congratulated her on the accomplishment. "YESSS!" cheered Eden McCoy (Josslyn). Katelyn MacMullen (Willow) commented: "Love this!" And Kirsten Storms (Maxie) noted that Wright looked like her daughter, Lauren in the photo she shared.
Naturally, the actress' real-life beau, Wes Ramsey (Peter) shared his own Instagram post to wish her a happy anniversary. "On this day 14 years ago, the queen came to town!" he declared. "Thank you for entertaining us and inspiring us with your powerhouse portrayal and ever-so-vulnerable work as the iconic Carly Corinthos!" His post shared a video clip that Wright herself also shared on her own social media of her very first appearance on GH. Max digs through the rubble of the devastating train crash looking for survivors, and passes by Carly, who reaches up to remove her hat and reveal her new face as an announcer's voice informs viewers that "the role of Carly is now being played by Laura Wright." Remember when they used to do that?
Please join us in congratulating Wright on this special anniversary and in looking forward to many, many more years of her amazing performances to come! For more on your favorite GH stars, keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
