Ever since she broke her foot in a bad fall, GENERAL HOSPITAL star Laura Wright (Carly) has been rolling around on a medical scooter counting down the days until she can walk again. (Sonny and Carly's vow renewal was actually the first episode she taped after her injury but now that the soap has written it into the storyline, they'll no longer have to try and hide it.) "I can't wait to start my next Beach Body Success Challenge… Laura Can Walk Again Challenge!" Wright declared on Instagram.
And while she has been taking it all in stride with her typical sense of humor, the naturally active actress also admitted that this has been a particularly difficult time for her. "Not being able to walk has been crazy challenging for me and my mind," Wright confessed. "While I know I'm so lucky I only broke my foot and I'll be able to say goodbye to this cast and scooter soon — many don't have that option — I have been very low emotionally.
"It has shown me how important moving our bodies is out our mental state," she continued. "I have to start super-slow while mixing in my physical therapy, but I'm so excited! If you'd like to join me and Team Laura, E-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. We start September 30!"
Thankfully, not being able to walk hasn't stopped Wright from having some fun as the summer winds down and she proved it by sharing a photo of herself enjoying a swim. Guess that cast is waterproof!
Injuries have been going around at the GH studio this summer, with Kin Shriner (Scott) requiring surgery on his foot, and Leslie Charleson (Monica) undergoing surgery of her own on her injured hand, but it looks like everyone is on the mend.
