Michael and Carly were reunited at the 2018 GENERAL HOSPITAL Fan Club Weekend, although not the actors currently playing the characters on the soap — we’re talking old-school Michael and Carly! Dylan Cash, who played Michael as a child, reconnected with former on-screen mom Tamara Braun her fan event! “I’m so glad to be here at the GHFCW,” Cash tweeted. “I’ve run into a bunch of old friends.” Then he shared a photo from Braun’s fan gathering and declared, “I am so glad I got to see my mom again! It’s always a pleasure seeing you, Tamara. Love you!”
Braun, who returned to GH to play the newly-created role of Kim Nero in 2017, portrayed Carly from 2001-05, making her the first mom Cash ever worked with when he debuted on the soap. “I was so happy to see ‘my son’ all grown up last night at my fan club event,” Braun shared on Instagram. “What an absolute treat and joy. My heart was so full with memories of playing this one’s mom. Dylan was just eight years old when we met and he grabbed my heart from the first hello.”
Cash played Carly and A.J.’s son starting in 2002 and was put on contract with GH in 2005. However, in 2008, Michael was hit in the head by a stray bullet and went into a coma, and when he woke up he was a teenager played by Drew Garrett. Michael went through a lot during his childhood, including three separate actresses playing his mom! While Cash was just a little too late to work with Carly’s first portrayer, Sarah Joy Brown, he did get to share the screen with recasts Braun, Jennifer Bransford, and Laura Wright!
Looking at this picture of Cash and Braun together now, it’s like looking into a parallel universe where Michael and Carly still look like this. At any rate, it’s still fun to see that they’re still able to get together even ten years after working together in Port Charles!
