GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Robert Palmer Watkins Stars in New Comedy Pilot!

Tags:

Congratulations to GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Robert Palmer Watkins on landing a brand new role! Fans who miss seeing him as Dillon Quartermaine in Port Charles will be able to see him as Eddie in a new comedy titled GREEN VALLEY.  “New Pilot!” he announced. “Stoked to start filming this! Amazing team.” Of course, it’s only a pilot for now, but you never know what the future will bring!

The actor shared the news when he tweeted out a photograph of himself and his co-stars on a bulletin board for the planning of the series. While it looks like a few roles have yet to be officially cast, Watkins’ costars signed up include Randy Wayne (THE LYING GAME) and Donna D’errico (BAYWATCH). Unfortunately, this early into production, additional details are scarce, including what the show will actually be about.

Watkins earned a lot of fans during his two years on GH as Dillon, and they have followed his career as it has continued after he left the soap. He starred as Cupid in the TV pilot CUPID’S MATCH, and appeared in the films Surviving Theater 9 and Last Three Days.

The actor’s former GH castmates were quick to offer their congratulations, including Matt Cohen (Griffin), Marc Anthony Samuel (Felix), and Vinessa Antoine (Jordan), who has just recently left GH herself to star in her own new series, DIGGSTOWN.

Hopefully GREEN VALLEY gets picked up and we can watch Watkins in a new series. He’s too talented a performer to not be on our screens on a regular basis! For more on your favorite GH stars — past and present — keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
