See GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Sean Blakemore on the Big Screen in ‘Ad Astra’!

Quite a few GENERAL HOSPITAL fans were upset when Shawn went to jail for a crime he didn’t even commit because it meant that popular actor Sean Blakemore was leaving the soap. Thankfully, since leaving GH, he’s worked very steadily, and his newest role will see him sharing the big screen with Brad Pitt in the new sci-fi movie Ad Astra

Blakemore plays Willy Levant in the film, and 20th Century Fox has released a preview clip of Ad Astra that prominently features his character warning Pitt’s Roy McBride that the moon is like the Wild West and they have to watch out for pirates.

Although GH fans would love to see Shawn out of prison and Blakemore back on the canvas, the actor has found success in film and primetime. He’s had roles on series like DEVIOUS MAIDS, AMERICAN CRIME, THE QUAD, and GREENLEAF and can be seen in movies like Spinning Man, One Crazy Christmas, and of course — Ad Astra.

Blakemore’s GH family are just as thrilled as his fans to see his career taking off. “I love watching your face in that trailer,” tweeted Maurice Benard (Sonny) after the clip from Ad Astra was released. Touched, Blakemore replied: “Thank you very much, my friend. I appreciate you saying so!”

Check out the clip and then get ready to see Blakemore on the big screen when Ad Astra opens on Friday, Sept. 20. For more on your favorite GH stars – past and present — keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
