GENERAL HOSPITAL Alum Vanessa Marcil Reports Her Mother Is Out of the Hospital
Former GENERAL HOSPITAL star Vanessa Marcil (ex-Brenda) had quite a scare on Jan. 23 when her mother, Patricia Marcil Ortiz, fell ill with the flu and she was unable to get into her California home to take her to the hospital. The actress took to social media to express her gratitude for the policemen who helped keep the situation from getting any worse. “Thank you, Officer Suarez and the entire Indio Police Department and paramedics for getting into my mom’s house today so quickly to help her,” she wrote. “We had a real scare last night and going into today. Where would we be without our men and women of service? You are our heroes.”
The Indio Police Department reposted Marcil’s Instagram thanks and responded: “Thank you so much for your kind words. We hope your mother is on the road to a full recovery!” Fans also filled Marcil’s comments with well wishes and prayers that her mom is feeling better very soon. This winter’s flu season has been called one of the most severe in years, and it’s something to take very seriously. The following day, Marcil offered an update and her gratitude for the well-wishes. “Thank you all for your prayers. Gagoo was in the ER all night and she was released today. We have her home with us. Thank you to doctors at JFK Hospital and a very special thanks to her nurse, Ashley. Prayers 4 Gagoo.”
Marcil lost her father, Peter Ortiz, back in September of 2017. But she is adding to her family with the new baby she is expecting with fiancé MC, which she recently revealed is a girl! And while the actress has admitted that she would “always” return to GH for another visit, Marcil has plenty on her plate right now to keep herself busy without diving back into the daytime grind!
