GENERAL HOSPITAL Star Genie Francis Reveals What She’d Most Love to Change About Laura!

Genie Francis is loving Laura’s life on GENERAL HOSPITAL, but there’s one thing she’d love to see change about her daytime alter ego!

“It would be great if Laura could be active about something, instead of always reacting to what’s happening to the people in her family,” Francis admits to Soaps In Depth, and that complaint goes way back to the days of Luke and Laura.

“There was only one time I had something active to do,” she adds. “When I had the secret of Nikolas and didn’t tell Luke about it. That was an interesting year for me. It was the first year I got nominated for a Daytime Emmy. I just prefer, at this point, not to be reactive.”

That said, the actress gladly leaves her fate — and Laura’s — in the hands of the writers. “I don’t want to undermine them,” she muses. “I’m very careful about that, because look what they’ve done!” raves the actress, who opens up about her character’s maturity and hot new romance in the current ABC issue of Soaps In Depth, on stands now. “The writers came up with a pairing that worked so fast and so well, and it’s also nice so many GH characters being woven together. It’s great to see the story deepening. Obviously they know something!”
