GH’s Paul And Little Jake Are Back!

GENERAL HOSPITAL returned two characters to the canvas this week: Paul Hornsby and Jake Spencer. Veteran actor Richard Burgi (Chad, ANOTHER WORLD; Glenn, AS THE WORLD TURNS; Randy, ONE LIFE TO LIVE; ex-Phillip, DAYS OF OUR LIVES) made his debut on July 8 as Dillon’s father — and Tracy’s ex-husband. The role was last played by Paul Satterfield from 1991-’94. Check out an upcoming issue of Soaps In Depth for our interview with Burgi — and to find out what Satterfield had to say about the recast!

Then, in the July 9 episode, James Nigbor reprised his role of Elizabeth and Lucky’s son, Jake. (The young actor had shared the part with his twin brother, Edward, back when they were tots.) As it turns out, he wasn’t killed by grandpa Luke in that hit-and-run accident after all! While Lucky is Little Jake’s legal father, the truck- and motorcycle-loving kid is the result of a one night stand between Liz and Jason. So expect the lad’s return to further complicate matters for his mom as she struggles to keep Big Jake’s true identity a secret!
