Get ready, because GREY’S ANATOMY star Chandra Wilson is scrubbing in for an appearance on GENERAL HOSPITAL! The actress, who plays Dr. Miranda Bailey on the ABC primetime series, is taping a guest spot on the daytime soap on Monday, Aug. 6. While an official airdate is not yet available, GH typcially tapes about a month in advance, so you can look for her to show up around the last week of August.
Although Wilson has appeared on GH before, she will not be reprising her role of Tina Estrada, the patient of Dr. Kevin Collins she portrayed in a January, 2014, episode. According to TV Line, this time around she’ll be playing Dr. Linda Massey, a therapist who will be counseling Curtis, Jordan, and Stella. And knowing Stella’s feelings about Jordan and Curtis’ upcoming marriage, the doc will have her work cut out for her!
Wilson has starred on GREY’S ANATOMY since its 2005 premiere, but her moonlighting in Port Charles wasn’t too tough to schedule because both shows are taped on the same lot at ABC. “I’ve watched GH for 35 years,” the actress confided to Soaps In Depth back in 2014 when she was preparing to make her first appearance on the soap. “I grew up with it. It holds such a place in my heart. Even though we’ve shared the same lot for 10 years I can’t talk to anybody on the lot… it’s weird to see them because they’re supposed to be in Port Charles! I have that kind of fan disconnect.”
Stay tuned to see if Wilson’s Dr. Massey can help Stella, Jordan, and Curtis work through their family drama, and for more GH casting news, keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth!
