Someone needs a good attorney and they’re going to get one when Hillary B. Smith returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL as Nora Buchanan! The character originally appeared on sister soap ONE LIFE TO LIVE, and first crossed over in early 2017 when Valentin hired Nora to represent him in his custody battle over his daughter, Charlotte. She then returned again at the end of 2017 when she represented Olivia Jerome in order to get her to release a statement exonerating Julian for the crimes she’d forced him to commit.
Smith joined OLTL back in 1992, shortly after her popular run as Margo on CBS sudser AS THE WORLD TURNS, and remained with the soap until its cancellation, even appearing on the short-lived online incarnation. Nora’s appearance on GH was the first from an ALL MY CHILDREN or OLTL character since ABC regained the rights to the soaps from Prospect Park after an extended legal battle.
While GH’s tweet would only tease that Nora was back in Port Charles and speculated about who she might be doing business with this time around, reports have her representing Kevin Collins, who could certainly use a high-powered attorney since he has confessed to hiding the fact that he was treating his serial killer brother, Ryan Chamberlalin, at Ferncliff, making him partially responsible for his escape and recent reign of terror.
Of course, this being Port Charles, there are plenty of criminals who find themselves in need of a good lawyer from time to time, and Alexis and Diane can’t handle all of the cases! An air date for Smith’s return and the length of her stint haven’t been revealed, so you’re just going to have to stay tuned to find out.
