Bryan Craig Promises Another Return to GENERAL HOSPITAL “Is Not Impossible”

Tags:

Ever since the character was killed off of back in October of 2016, fans have been wondering, “Is Morgan coming back to GENERAL HOSPITAL?” They’re hoping for a shocking twist to the storyline that will reveal Morgan didn’t really die in the car explosion and popular portrayer Bryan Craig will return to the role. And in fact, he made a special appearance in the Jan. 17 episode that was centered around Ava Jerome! And Ava’s portrayer, Maura West, was delighted to be reunited with her former co-star, even if only briefly. “Indescribably happy to work with Bryan Craig once again!” she posted to Instagram with a behind the scenes pic of them. “Just love!” Ever the gentleman, he replied: “Always a pleasure.” And to the fans, he tweeted: “Thanks for the support. Love y’all.”

Unfortunately, being that Craig has been keeping incredibly busy with roles in films and primetime television since leaving the soap, if GH wants to bring Morgan back to life on a more permanent basis, they may be forced to recast!

Craig still appreciates his fans, and at a GH Fantasy Event in 2017, he told Soaps In Depth: “I’d be more than thrilled to come back and play Morgan.” However, the young actor admits that he wouldn’t want to be on contract with the soap again because he wants to remain available to pursue other projects.

And those projects are keeping him quite busy! Craig already starred in the upcoming film Ride, based on the life of BMX champion John Buultjens, even shaving his head for the role. And while that movie was in post-production for its November release, the young star began filming American Fighter, which co-stars Tommy Flanagan and Sean Patrick Flannery and centers around a desperate teenager who is forced into the world of underground fighting to raise the money to save his ailing mother.

After sharing a bunch of backstage pictures from the filming of American Fighter on his Instagram, Craig then shared a photo of himself looking scruffy in what appeared to be some kind of a military uniform. “New adventure ahead!” he posted. And while that photo was quickly deleted, he later shared some more photos of himself including one studying his script and another from his firearm training for the new CW primetime series, VALOR.

Craig made his debut in the second episode of VALOR a drama that centers on a U.S. Army base that houses an elite unit of helicopter pilots trained to perform clandestine missions. He plays Adam Coogan, the head of a Delta Force team, and will have a recurring role as the action continues over the course of the season.

After Morgan’s on-screen death, Craig broke his silence to promise fans that despite internet reports at the time, “Nobody quit!” He also regretted that the news of his departure leaked out because he believes it would have been so much more effective for viewers if they had been surprised by Morgan’s shocking demise.

In December of 2016, Craig tweeted “I’ll come through again and pick up right where I left off,” leading his fans to believe his return to GH was imminent. But shortly after that, he added, “Don’t get ahead of yourself.”

Craig earned Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Younger Actor in 2014 and 2015, taking home the trophy in 2016 and 2017. Could the actor return to GH in the flesh to continue adding Emmy Awards to his shelf? “A return is not impossible,” Craig promised. “I’m willing. I think they would be willing. We’ve just gotta figure out logistics.” While Craig’s busy schedule would seem to make Morgan’s resurrection difficult, remember this is daytime, where nothing is impossible!

See why Craig would love to return to work with his GH castmates again by checking out the gallery of photos below where he’s clearly having the best time with all of them!
