Kin Shriner Unplugged!

Tags:

This week marks a big day for GH’s Kin Shriner (Scotty). Four decades in daytime is a reason to celebrate, don’t you think? For the current issue of Soaps In Depth, we sat down with the fan fave and talked about his rascally alter ego’s past (and future) in Port Charles… and how he still keeps Scotty fun and fresh after all these years!

“Every time you leave, you do some other new stuff, because all actors shoot for the moon,” Shriner admits. “Then, when they want you to come back and be that character again, you think, ‘Sure, I can pump him back to life again.’ When you get there, you gotta bring it. I come to the table with game. Those actors that I work with on GH, they all have game. They sometimes don’t know what to make of my game, so they’re on high alert,” he jokes.

“They step up to bat and go, ‘I don’t know what Kin’s gonna do, but I’m gonna have game, too!’ There’s nobody on GH that’s not good. It’s just how you rile them up at the time. If I stick my finger out at Maurice Benard (Sonny), believe me, he’s going to bite it off! My game and his game. That makes the scene interesting.”

In the 10-page special dedicated to Shriner, he shares his hilarious childhood connection to the legendary Lucille Ball, memories of those iconic early years on GH, and the person to whom he attributes the show’s success. We also opened our files to find some old photos of Shriner that will surely put a smile on your face!
