Let’s Get This Party Started!

_A little song, a little dance, sexy young men in their underpants. What more could you want from a charity gala? _

GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Nurses Ball got underway with a spectacular opening number courtesy of none other than Liesl Obrecht. Surrounded by scantily clad “nurses,” she welcomed attendees with her version of “Willkommen” from Cabaret. She deserved a standing ovation but the poor dear got nothing but blank stares and the sound of crickets from the shocked audience.

Brad and Britt were watching the televised show from his apartment while swallowing spoonfuls of vanilla ice cream. It’s no surprise that didn’t help with their depression. Everyone knows that requires Rocky Road! Anyway, Brad was upset that Felix and Brad arrived together and he wasn’t about ready to sit there and pout. He wanted to throw on a tux and head to the ball. Britt was not in the mood to join him but Brad talked her into it.

Meanwhile, Kiki tackled Pink’s “Raise Your Glass,” surrounded by mirrors, a gazillion balloons plus Liz, T.J., Lucas and Felix, who had some serious moves! Eddie Maine (aka Ned Ashton) then performed Meatloaf’s “You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth” like a bad boy of rock ‘n’ roll. If he had worn Eddie Maine’s signature black leather pants he would have been badder but, cest le vie.

Amidst all of the musical whoopla, there were lots of awkward moments. Like when Nathan and Maxie locked eyes, he told her she was beautiful, she grinned sheepishly… and then Levi showed up in his flip flops to rain on their parade. Or when Ric told Liz that maybe their date didn’t have to be “a one-time thing” and she shot him a “think again” look.

The most unexpected moment came when Lucy introduced the next performer — Luke Spencer! The lights went down and a profiled silloutte appeared on stage. “I am what I am. I am my own special creation,” he sang. There was something both ironic and spooky about the lyrics of the song from La Cage aux Folles as sung by the man who viewers have no idea really is! But the surprise wasn’t just Luke’s performance. It’s what came after it — he asked Tracy to marry him right there, on the spot. With Lucy officiating, she pronounced them husband and wife, to which Luke thought to himself, “Easy, big guy. Forget these delicious babes for now. You’re this close to getting ELQ. Just kiss the damn bride!”

After the bridal bouquet was tossed (and caught by Liz), it was time for a little eye candy. Make that,_ a lot_ of eye candy. It was time for Magic Milo And The Magic Wands! Milo, Felix, Lucas, Michael, T.J. and Nathan all shook their bon bons, unbuttoned this and ripped off that until they were in nothing but their skivvies!

Up next, Sonny reaches out to Olivia, Spencer sings for Emma, Luke be working at ELQ after all and… Blackie Parish performs? Don’t forget: 2:00 ET and 1:00 PST/CT on ABC. Be there!
