Matt Cohen Previews His Debut on Today’s GENERAL HOSPITAL
Matt Cohen scrubs in as GENERAL HOSPITAL’s newest resident in today’s episode as Dr. Griffin Monro — and he’s dishing on the details about his new character!
Griffin is set to be Sonny’s new doctor, but could the newcomer have established connections with other Port Charles residents? “I only know so much about my [character’s] past and who I’m connected to,” Cohen confides to Soaps In Depth. “I know a little bit, but I cannot spill one ounce of that or I will definitely get in trouble!”
Some fans have noticed the actor’s resemblance to castmate Ryan Paevey (Nathan) and suspect their characters could be related somehow. “To be perfectly honest,” Cohen says, “as the audience knows, anything is possible in the soap world. I think Frank [Valentini, GH executive producer] has a plan for this character.”
While they’re still in the process of establishing Griffin, Cohen allows that his alter ego is a little edgier than your average physician. “He’s a genuine dude. He’s there to do some good. He might get his nose into some trouble, obviously, trying to do good. And open his mouth a little too often!”
Be sure to tune in to watch Cohen make his debut in the Friday, Feb. 5, episode of GH, and for more news and preview, keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth magazine!
