ONE LIFE TO LIVE Star Robin Strasser Joins the Cast of DAYS OF OUR LIVES as Vivian
An ABC daytime legend has landed a new role on an NBC sudser! ONE LIFE TO LIVE star Robin Strasser is joining the cast of DAYS OF OUR LIVES! “November 12, 2017, nixed rumor I’d be joining DAYS,” she tweeted. “Cut to Feb. 2019, they called, I jumped! You can’t say #supportthe4 and not let them in when they knock on your door. #DOOL, yes!” She will be stepping into the shoes of the presumed-dead Vivian Alamain beginning on Monday, Sept. 2. The role was previously portrayed by Louise Sorel, who was reportedly unavailable to work these episodes into her schedule.
Strasser is best known for playing Dorian Lord on OLTL and following the cancelation of the soap, has been a vocal supporter of the four remaining daytime dramas still on the air, hence the hashtag “#supportthe4.” And when fans began petitioning again for the return of OLTL and ALL MY CHILDREN to the ABC Daytime lineup, she was right there with them. “Wouldn’t it be wonderful?” she tweeted. “Would I be available to play Dorian again? Dang yes! I’ve never gotten over the loss of my TV family and friends — I miss them as much as you have.”

Strasser has enjoyed a long career in daytime, beginning with a role on THE SECRET STORM, followed by SUMERSET, ANOTHER WORLD, and AMC. She first appeared on OLTL beginning in 1979, and was one of the most popular Llanview residents right up until the end of the series. Back in May of 2018, the actress shared with Soaps In Depth her new life in real estate, and how she’d love to return to daytime for another turn. “I only want to do recurring,” she expressed at the time. “I’m 72 years old and cantankerous as a horndog in a beehive. I could not possibly [work more]. But to come in for a hotsy-totsy three months and goodbye? Or to come in twice a month? Enjoyable!”
