Soap fans were devastated by the passing of ONE LIFE TO LIVE star Patricia Elliott (Renee) on December 20, and in the subsequent days, the daytime community has shared their own feelings.

“Patricia Elliott was a great lady, a cherished performer and a great friend to so many,” ABC said in a statement. “For more than two decades she delighted daytime audience with her ‘divine’ talents on ONE LIFE TO LIVE. Our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.”

“So sad to hear Patricia Elliott has passed away,” former OLTL headwriter Ron Carlivati posted to Twitter. “Such an honor to have written for Renee on OLTL. She was divine!” Added former OLTL executive producer Frank Valentini, “Patricia Elliott was a tremendously generous actor and humanitarian. She will be missed.”

“So saddened to hear the passing of the glorious Patricia Elliott,” Kassie DePaiva (Blair, OLTL) tweeted. “Such an earth angel. An amazing person!”

“My dear friend and colleague Patricia Elliott passed away from a very rare cancer on Sunday,” wrote Erika Slezak (Viki, OLTL) on her website. “Pat was a wonderful, kind, generous soul, with a wicked sense of humor and a great deal of talent. She was a friend, and a woman to whom I always turned when I had questions or needed advice. I will miss her and I wish her peace and quiet now, which is what she always looked for.”
