Two years ago, GENERAL HOSPITAL star Emme Rylan (Lulu) suffered a broken nose when her face collided with the head of her youngest son, Levi. And now the actress has to undergo another surgery to fix it. “I’m just one of those girls that posts pretty pictures with a soft filter,” Rylan joked on Instagram as she posted a selfie with her bandaged face following the procedure.
While she didn’t reveal exactly what the surgery entailed, it looks as though it went well and Rylan is on the road to a quick recovery. And luckily, GH is currently taking a break from filming, so it shouldn’t impact her appearances as Lulu on-screen much, if at all. Although we can certainly think of better ways to spend your vacation time than undergoing surgery!
Coincidentally, Rylan injured herself during one of GH’s summer breaks when the accident occurred two years ago. “My son was running to jump on a cushion I was on,” she explained at the time. “I sat up just as he jumped and his head broke my nose! Taken down by a four year old!” Rylan is going to have to start being more careful when playing with her kids, as back in the spring of this year, she fractured her foot!
Thankfully, Ryan is already looking much better, just a day after her surgery, with the bruising lessened and just a couple small bandages on the bridge of her nose as seen in another selfie where she was showing off the lovely braid she put in her hair. “Strong meds plus YouTube tutorials equals I’m basically a hairdresser now,” she teased. “Seriously, though, this is the most exciting hairstyle I’ve done by myself.”
All our best for a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing Lulu back in action again soon! (Also, try to be more careful, okay?) For more on your favorite GH stars, keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth magazine!
